SENIOR BRIDGE ENGINEER
About the role
The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Structure Construction (SC), is recruiting to fill one Senior Bridge Engineer (Supervisory) position. This position reports directly to the Supervising Bridge Engineer. The incumbent is responsible for and manages a staff of engineering employees on multiple structure projects while managing field staff on smaller structure projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage a staff of engineering employees on multiple structure projects
- Manage field staff on smaller structure projects
- Develop and implement bridge construction methods and engineering techniques
- Conduct bridge rehabilitation and maintenance
- Analyze structural data and develop project development processes
- Negotiate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Maintain strong working relationships and establish partnerships within districts and with external partners
Requirements
The position requires a Civil Engineer License. You will be required to provide a copy of your license prior to being hired.
Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in bridge construction methods and engineering, bridge rehabilitation and maintenance techniques, structural analysis, project development process, procedures, and philosophies. Demonstrated supervisory and management skills and responsibilities, including work balancing, developing budgets, employee safety, employee development, employee conduct and discipline. Ability to analyze facts, data, and situations, using problem-solving techniques. Ability to negotiate and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing (e.g., writing technical reports, group presentations, and public forums). Ability to maintain strong working relationships and establish and maintain partnerships within districts and with external partners.
