Key job responsibilities
- Serve as the brand lead for the Developer Marketing team’s innovation programs. Bring brand expertise to creative ideation, ensure campaigns align with AWS brand positioning and voice, and elevate the quality and consistency of marketing activations targeting developer audiences.
- Define and maintain brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and creative guidelines specific to developer audiences, ensuring consistency across all marketing activations
- Partner with the Developer Advocate team and Developer Marketing leads to shape campaign narratives, validate creative concepts, and ensure brand alignment from ideation through execution
- Bring brand expertise to marketing approaches, helping the team push creative boundaries while maintaining brand integrity and establishing AWS as the most developer-loved cloud brand
- Develop brand measurement frameworks and creative quality standards for developer marketing initiatives, partnering with insights teams to track brand health, sentiment, and preference among developer audiences
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or equivalent
- 6+ years of brand management, or creative experience, with demonstrated expertise in building and evolving brand positioning
- 5+ years as a brand strategist, brand lead, or senior creative strategist in an agency, brand team, or equivalent in-house role
- 4+ years leading brand for cross-functional campaigns and partnering with creative teams through complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to define brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and creative strategies with limited guidance in ambiguous environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience maintaining brand consistency and creative quality across digital, social, experiential, and developer community channels
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple brand workstreams, stakeholder reviews, and creative approvals in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to influence creative direction and present brand to senior leaders
- Deep understanding of brand building principles and how to apply them to technical/developer audiences who value authenticity and substance over traditional marketing
- Experience developing brand positioning or messaging for developer-focused products, platforms, or communities
