Senior Branch Manager (Hyattsville Branch)
About the Role
This position provides strategic and experienced leadership and management for a high-opportunity branch team, ensuring profitability, growth, and sound operation. The Senior Branch Manager drives branch teammates to deliver a best-in-class client experience through needs-based conversations and appropriate financial solutions for immediate, short-term, and long-term needs.
Community involvement and business development in high-opportunity markets, including referrals to multiple lines of business, are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver strong individual and team sales/referral performance in deposits, loans, investment, and other product lines.
- Provide excellent client experience through needs-based conversations.
- Direct, lead, and coach superior sales and service behaviors leveraging the Sales & Service Playbook.
- Drive business development through personal productivity in small business, mass affluent, Workplace Solutions, and line-of-business partnerships.
- Collaborate with other lines of business on market-level strategic initiatives to meet bank-wide objectives.
- Develop and execute plans to meet or exceed branch sales goals while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance.
- Drive growth through outside business development, relationship-building with centers of influence, and client acquisition.
- Conduct sales efforts to bring in new primary relationships and expand existing personal and business banking relationships.
- Maximize sales and client satisfaction while minimizing operating losses through tactical execution.
- Review performance results via analytics dashboards and adjust team initiatives and coaching as needed.
- Execute Performance Leadership routines, including formal observations and branch performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with small business and mass affluent clients to retain, deepen, and earn referrals.
- Build an effective COI (Center of Influence) network to support business development and client growth.
- Promote and represent the bank through community involvement during and after business hours.
- Support and implement initiatives for CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) and Fair Lending.
- Represent the bank in targeted business or community organizations and participate in bank-sponsored events.
- Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including BSA/AML (Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering) policies.
- Ensure the entire team completes all required training and follows bank procedures, internal controls, and regulatory policies.
Talent Management and Development
- Interview and select candidates to fill branch positions.
- Coach, train, and develop the branch team through formal observations and coaching sessions.
- Manage the teammate performance development process, including performance reviews.
- Educate teammates on products, services, and digital capabilities.
- Analyze reports to respond and coach accordingly.
- Conduct performance counseling, including disciplinary action decisions.
- Ensure all teammates follow internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Market Leader.
Qualifications
- Possess or be able to obtain NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System) registration.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Previous lending experience required.
- Seven plus years of retail banking experience.
- Five plus years of management experience in a sales environment.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Flexible, able to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel based on business need.
- Evening and weekend hours required based on business need.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift objects up to 30 pounds.
