Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence & Data Analyst to join our team. This position will be able to work remotely from anywhere in the United States. This role involves supporting the data and reporting requirements of AFL’s Key Business Units.
Responsibilities
- Provide first hand support to business units with respect to their adhoc data and reporting requests
- Works with internal and external customers and suppliers to understand the business requirements behind requested computing initiatives
- Develops and deploys reports and dashboards in SSRS and Power BI
- Provides inputs on data sources and quality into high-level data flow architecture
- Designs and develops ETL and integration solutions
- Implements design patterns and industry best-practices to develop secure robust integration applications
- Actively collaborates with developers and other project resources
- Questions existing processes and procedures (both administrative and technical), and offers suggestions and opinions for continuous improvement
- Communicates technical ideas and concepts in non-technical language to the business
- Takes directions from and works with senior members of the development team on projects and tasks
- Adheres to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Science or Business Administration
- 7-10 years of in-depth data analysis experience
- Good handle on reporting and data presentation concepts, preferably Power BI
- Experience writing SQL’s in Oracle or SQL Server platform is mandatory
- Strong SQL knowledge and query writing abilities including data validations and performance tuning
- Apt to understand ETL processes and best practices
- Experience documenting and communicating designs aligned to business requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
