About the Role
We are hiring in our Finance Department in our Diagnostics division! This is a senior-level position, ideal for a finance professional energized by using data, systems, automation, and business intelligence tools to improve FP&A work and deliver insights. This is an onsite position in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
- FP&A:
- Consolidate commercial department expenses, perform cost analysis, and provide commentary.
- Coordinate FP&A activities with finance team and operations leaders.
- Develop, enhance, and streamline reporting packages, dashboards, and recurring FP&A deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes and improve analysis speed and quality.
- Leverage business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to transform data into actionable insights.
- Business Partnership:
- Support cost center expense review, analysis, and research.
- Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting.
- Enhance reporting tools and data flows for efficient planning and forecasting.
- Analyze expenses, identify trends, and provide recommendations.
- Reconcile transactions and manage month-close activities.
- Revenue Analytics:
- Perform month-end closing activities related to revenue performance.
- Model and present findings to leadership on key financial outcomes.
- Create and maintain revenue analytics dashboards and reporting tools.
- Analyze datasets to identify revenue trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare month-end journal entries and support special projects.
- Financial System Support:
- Focus on Hyperion Planning, SmartView, Oracle, QlikSense, and Power BI.
- Serve as a finance systems power user to improve reporting and data integrity.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models.
- Explore AI-enabled tools and automation to improve productivity.
- Partner with stakeholders to troubleshoot reporting issues and support scalable processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 5–8 years of professional experience in FP&A or commercial analytics.
- Experience with Power BI, Hyperion/SmartView, Oracle, QlikSense, or similar tools preferred.
Skills
- Strong business acumen, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems, US GAAP, and advanced Excel.
- Experience with Power BI dashboard development preferred.
- Interest in AI-enabled tools and automation for finance processes.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and narratives.
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to challenge manual processes.
Pay
The annualized base salary range for this role is $83,000 to $129,900, plus bonus eligibility. Final compensation depends on experience, skillset, geography, and market demand.
