About the Role

Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Senior Avionics Engineer to oversee aircraft electrical system airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and coordinate new technology programs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and assign all Engineering Task Cards/Authorizations to address avionics and related system repairs and alterations.
  • Provide technical assistance related to aircraft fleet upgrades and modifications.
  • Review and disposition avionics and aircraft electrical system Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Service Letters; coordinate new technology programs.
  • Serve as the point of contact for vendors on technical issues relating to avionics and aircraft electrical systems, and establish procedures for resolving technical issues.
  • Coordinate with various departments to resolve and prevent aircraft electrical system deficiencies.
  • Review and improve maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, task cards, and service bulletins in relation to all avionics.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience plus ten years of related experience.
  • At least 5 years of previous airline experience.
  • Proven engineering, computer, and technical knowledge experience.
  • Excellent ability to articulate complex information to various audiences.
  • Exceptional mathematical skills.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to obtain an MSP SIDA Badge.

Pay

Base compensation range: $120,000.00–$140,000.00. This role is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000.00.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets is required.

The physical demands include regular talking or hearing, frequent standing, walking, and use of hands or fingers. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling is required. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
