Senior AV Technician

About the role

This is an event site-oriented production technician position that coordinates with the LIVE TEAM event managers to ensure the proper planning and execution of production elements (commonly audio, video, lighting, rigging, and/or scenic). This role helps determine production element needs based on project specifications and generates load lists accordingly. The position executes small, medium, and large-scale production projects by traveling to job sites, setting up production equipment, and providing on-site technical operation and support. It also involves interacting with event managers and clients as needed, as well as working in the warehouse to prepare and restore projects based on availability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain gear and equipment in the warehouse for each event, including regular maintenance of inventory and repairing equipment.
• Execute production events, deliver equipment to events, and pack up equipment to return to the warehouse.
• Determine production element needs based on project specifications and generate load lists.
• Execute small-to-medium production projects by traveling to job sites, setting up production equipment, and providing on-site technical operation and support.
• Interact with event managers and clients as needed.
• Assist in the warehouse in the preparation and restoration of projects based on availability and need.
• Assist in training new hires and overseeing contractors while onsite.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4 years’ experience in A/V production or related fields.
• Skilled in running audio, video, and lighting productions.
• Ability to work on an event site in a safe manner, including taking instruction from more senior staff.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems (such as Flex).
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card and drive a 26’ box truck and pickup/trailer combo.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to obtain basic first aid certification.
• Ability to travel and work non-business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
• Ability to interact professionally with a variety of individuals, including executive-level clients and the general public.
• Must be able to travel at least 60% of the time and lift up to 50 lbs.
