About the role
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with strong experience in Allen-Bradley ControlLogix to be responsible for designing, programming, troubleshooting, and supporting industrial automation systems in a high-speed manufacturing or packaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix.
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain Allen-Bradley VFDs.
- Integrate and maintain toolkit based (PlantPax and others) control systems in packaging lines.
- Develop HMI screens and logic using AVEVA System Platform & FactoryTalk View SE/ME.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and production) to define control system specifications.
- Support machine start-ups, commissioning, and system optimization on-site.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network communication issues.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, or Mechatronics Engineering or related technical field or commensurate experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC programming and integration.
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley VFDs.
- Proficiency with Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, and Historian.
- Familiarity with packaging machine automation (or similar packaging line platforms) and understand PackML Standards.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, I/O testing, loop tuning, and system commissioning.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and panel layouts.
- Ability to penetrate controls logic for OEM equipment vendors.
Qualifications
- DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork.
- Ability to work 2 2 3 3 shift.
Skills
- Experience with SQL databases and scripting in Historian environments.
- Familiarity with industrial safety systems (e.g., GuardLogix, safety relays).
- Understanding of batch and continuous process control.
- Experience with system integration in the food & beverage, CPG, or pharma industries.
