Senior Automation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an elite, code-first Senior Automation Engineer to serve as our technical Automation Anchor. In this pivotal role, you will be a force multiplier for quality—balancing deep, hands-on framework scripting with high-level automation strategy, tooling direction, and absolute quality process ownership.

This is not a coordination or delegation role. You will be the architectural anchor who evaluates emerging technologies, defines the automation roadmap, and actively writes clean, scalable code to robustly validate our web, mobile, backend, and API ecosystems.

Core Technical Stack

• Primary Programming Language: TypeScript (Advanced coding depth mandatory)
• Secondary/Exposure Ecosystems: GoLang, Kotlin, Swift, or Java
• Automation Frameworks: Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG
• Infrastructure & Tools: CI/CD Integration, JMeter / LoadRunner, Jira / Bugzilla, Git

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy (The Anchor Pillars)
• Automation Roadmap: Act as the strategic anchor, establishing the long-term automation roadmap, designing core testing architectures, and steering tooling direction across the engineering org.
• Quality Ownership: Take full accountability for quality processes, standardizing best practices for code-driven testing, test planning, and robust defect tracing in Jira/Bugzilla.
• Framework Evolution: Build, refactor, and scale highly resilient automation frameworks from scratch, abstracting complexity so that teams can ship code rapidly and safely.
• Full-Stack Automation Execution
• End-to-End Automation: Write and maintain advanced, deterministic test suites spanning Web UI (Cypress/Selenium), Mobile applications, and deeply integrated Backend/API layers (JUnit/TestNG).
• DevOps & CI/CD Guardrails: Embed automated tests seamlessly into modern CI/CD deployment pipelines, creating instant, stable feedback loops for development teams.
• Performance & Security Guarding: Design, script, and execute rigorous performance and load tests using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner. Infuse security testing awareness into early test cycles to capture potential vulnerabilities before production.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Engineering Depth: Exceptional, production-ready coding ability in TypeScript is required. You reason like a developer and treat test suites with the same rigor as production application code.
• Polyglot Exposure: Hands-on exposure to (or strong willingness to learn and navigate) modern backend/native languages such as GoLang, Kotlin, or Swift.
• Strategic Tooling Expertise: Proven experience choosing, adapting, and defending technical tooling decisions (e.g., assessing Cypress vs. Playwright vs. Selenium for specific product matrices).
• End-to-End Delivery: Deep expertise in API/Backend testing combined with front-end web and mobile execution.
• Ecosystem Mastery: Expert knowledge of the open-source automation landscape, performance testing engines (JMeter/LoadRunner), and CI/CD integration.

Who This Role Is NOT For

• Profiles heavily indexed on Manual QA, exploratory testing, or visual verification.
• Hands-off managers or coordinators who spend their days in spreadsheets and no longer actively write or review automation scripts.
• Candidates who rely entirely on vendor-locked, record-and-playback, or low-code/no-code UI automation platforms.
