Senior Auditor- real estate

About the role

Hybrid position requiring 2 days onsite per week at one of the following locations: Rock Center (NYC), White Plains, Florham Park, Melville, or Jericho. The Audit Senior will focus on auditing real estate entities and financial statements, with experience in real estate GAAP, tax‑basis audits, property‑level and fund‑level audits, and real estate investment entities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audit, review, and compilation procedures, including control testing, substantive testing, and analytical procedures.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day engagement activities: planning, fieldwork, and wrap‑up, ensuring engagements stay on schedule and within budget.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.
• Lead engagements from planning through completion.
• Supervise and mentor staff.
• Maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience.
• Audit experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.
• Experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements/priorities.
• Leadership and staff‑supervision experience.
• CPA or 150 credit hours/CPA eligibility.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to audit quality.

Qualifications

Real estate audit/accounting experience strongly preferred; experience with real estate GAAP and tax‑basis audits preferred; certiorari experience a plus.

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 – $125,000 (based on experience).
