About the role

The Description Restructuring Senior Associate, Alvarez & Marsal Unsecured Creditor Committee Practice is a position within the Unsecured Creditors Committee (UCC) practice at Alvarez & Marsal. This practice provides a full suite of financial advisory services to creditors and specializes in representing official committees of unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.

Team

The UCC practice works closely with committees to provide services such as liquidity assessment, business plan evaluation, asset and enterprise valuation preparation, creditworthiness assessment, avoidance action prosecution, inter-company activity analysis, expert testimony delivery, and stakeholder negotiation.

How you will contribute

Senior Associates are expected to work collaboratively on diverse assignments, assisting senior UCC team members throughout the bankruptcy process. They will be responsible for developing solutions to problems and providing value to clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working in a team environment on a diverse range of assignments
  • Assisting senior UCC team members throughout the bankruptcy process
  • Developing solutions to problems and providing value to clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business Major)
  • 5-8+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus
  • Exposure to UCC work highly preferred
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills to assist with pitchbooks and the creation of client deliverables
  • Demonstrate an intermediate level of experience with a number of the following areas:
    • Understanding of accounting and finance
    • Understanding of how to analyze financial statements and prepare financial models
    • Understanding of how to analyze and forecast cash flows
    • Understanding the key operational performance drivers of a business
    • Interaction with clients (ability to request and extract information)
    • Ability to manage and organize large sets of unorganized or incomplete data
    • Ability to stay on task while working on multiple work streams (organizational skills)
    • Problem-solving skills with the ability to think through alternative solutions
    • Commitment to promoting integrity, leadership, and objectivity
    • Entrepreneurial team player who can excel in a fast-paced, challenging work environment
    • Confident speaker (can communicate with personnel at all levels)
    • Efficient business writer

Benefits

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits, which include healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part-time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.

Pay

The salary range is $160,000 - $185,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.
