Senior Associate, Group Corporate Development
About the role
The Group Corporate Development team at LSEG is an outstanding, successful and high impact team. We are experts in Strategy, M&A execution and integration, and have helped the Group deliver a large amount of inorganic activity over the years: from industry defining transformational partnerships and acquisitions, like the partnership with Microsoft announced in 2022 or the $27bn acquisition of Refinitiv in 2021; to highly complex disposals like the $5bn disposal of Borsa Italiana or the $1bn disposal of Beta+; to highly strategic bolt-on acquisitions and investments like LSEG’s acquisition of Acadia in 2023. These transactions have not only helped transform our Group to drive growth and deliver on our strategic priorities but have also re-shaped our industry.
We work closely with our group executives, business leaders and key functions across our global business to understand how inorganic activity can support our strategic priorities. We are responsible for the full life cycle from M&A strategy & pipeline development to origination and then execution and integration. We also support the business across a range of other activities.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with our managers and directors, you’ll lead multiple activities across our portfolio of projects, including supporting live transaction process end-to-end, developing M&A strategy and pipelines, origination work on selected opportunities and evaluating inbounds with our business teams
- Across all work, you’ll ensure that there is a high quality of work output and timely delivery against key deadlines
- Support delivery of transaction execution processes end-to-end, including partner co-ordination, managing M&A project plans, preparation of transaction assessment materials and integration planning / support
- Take ownership of transaction workstreams on selected projects (e.g. execution of due diligence processes, business plan modelling, integration planning) and proactively manage these activities
- Contribute to key artefacts for the team on group and divisional M&A strategy and pipelines
- Support in co-ordination and evaluation of select origination opportunities
- Accountable for all work of associates and graduates on projects plus delivering day-to-day/on the job training to drive best practise
- Ensure maintenance of team tools and resources including transaction database, financial models and management of Teams sites
Requirements
- Experience in corporate development, strategy, deal advisory, transaction services or finance centred team preferred
- Strong experience working within a team
- Degree or equivalent and professional qualification (CFA, CA, ACA)

- Relationship management: Ability to build relationships and manage across a range of different partners from strategy, legal, finance, integration, technology and our business and product teams and also external partners including investment banking, accounting and deal advisory
- Execution: Demonstrates the ability to plan, coordinate and manage activities to achieve specified outcomes within a clearly defined timeframe and standards
- Financial: Solid understanding of financial metrics, statements and modelling leading to high quality analysis and recommendations
- M&A and Investment: Good understanding of core M&A and investment concepts and an ability to apply that to live projects and drive delivery
- Communication: Strong communication and writing skills that can be used to create effective messaging and updates for senior partners and committees as part of our M&A process
- Analytical: Strong analytical skills in processing large amounts of complex data and distilling to clear and focused analysis
- Comfort with ambiguity: Adaptable, pivot promptly when provided feedback, ability to learn quickly
- Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team being able to effectively support team managers and associates to deliver outcomes
Benefits
LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $113,900 - $189,900. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
