Senior Associate Director, Social Media

About the role

Our beauty industry client is seeking a full-time Senior Associate Director, Social Media. (Onsite in NYC 4 days per week) In this role, you'll lead the brand's organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and emerging platforms, driving engagement, community growth, and brand affinity through impactful, platform-native content.

This hands-on leadership role combines strategy, content creation, creator management, performance optimization, and trend forecasting. You'll leverage AI tools to improve content development, reporting, and operational efficiency while partnering closely with Creative, Influencer, Paid Media, Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Social Commerce, Copy, and PR teams. You will also manage a Video Content Creator.

Responsibilities

• Lead organic social strategy, content planning, and editorial direction
• Develop creative concepts, briefs, scripts, and content franchises
• Oversee content production, publishing, approvals, and creator partnerships
• Analyze performance metrics and audience insights to optimize content
• Implement AI-driven tools and workflows to improve efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally on campaigns, launches, and brand initiatives
• Manage and mentor a Video Content Creator

Requirements

• 4+ years of social media leadership experience within beauty, lifestyle, fashion, consumer, or digital-first brands
• Proven success growing engagement and online communities
• Strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, trends, and creator culture
• Experience leading content production from concept through execution
• Excellent creative, project management, and leadership skills
• Comfortable directing shoots, creating content, and utilizing AI tools to streamline workflows
