Senior Associate Attorney

About the role

This is a full-time Senior Associate Attorney position focused on defending clients in complex casualty and liability matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload involving bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Defend matters involving complex casualty, product liability, construction defect, New York Labor Law, and general liability.
• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Argue motions and represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and settlement discussions.
• Attend client meetings and provide strategic legal guidance.
• Independently manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines and case objectives.
• Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and other legal professionals.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of associate-level experience in insurance defense or related civil litigation.
• Strong experience defending bodily injury and property damage claims.
• Experience with complex casualty, product liability, construction defect, New York Labor Law, and general liability matters.
• Admission to the New York and New Jersey Bars is required; Pennsylvania admission is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases.
• Experience taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, and participating in trials.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively within a legal team.
