About the role

Attorneys manage the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from inception to final resolution, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. The firm operates in a paperless environment using primarily digital documents and works closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.

Responsibilities

• Manage workers' compensation defense cases from inception to final resolution
• Handle all aspects of discovery and litigation
• Collaborate with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators

Requirements

• Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees
• Member of the State Bar of California, in good standing
• 2 to 5+ years of workers' compensation defense experience
• Superior research, analytical, and negotiating ability
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Commitment to proactive case management
• Experience in Merus or Litify is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams is preferred

Work Environment

• Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines
• Physical: Computer keyboarding, travel as required
• Auditory/Visual: Hearing, vision, and speaking
