Responsibilities Financial Analysis Perform financial analyses and prepare due diligence materials on prospective investments; responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting Partners and CFO with the development of financial projections and returns modelsConducting financial analysis to assess companies’ historical financials, unit economics, customer-by-customer details, pipeline and backlog details, customer utilization data, customer churn analyses, team productivity metrics, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)Creating charts and graphs to illustrate key data and findingsAnalyzing market size, competitive landscape, and market segmentsDeveloping in partnership with Partners investment memorandum for Health Velocity Capital’s commitment committee and limited partnersPrepare for, participate, document, and potentially lead diligence calls handling professionally, with courtesy, curiosity, and graciousness Sourcing Research and screen potential investment opportunities, ideas, and technologiesQuickly develop a sense of what makes an appropriate Health Velocity Capital investment opportunity Lead pitch calls with prospective investments Take calls and meetings on behalf of Partners and professionally represent the firm in these calls and meetingsSummarize and type up all call notes and input in deals database (all Partners do this as well)Cold call/email relevant investment opportunitiesPerform market research and develop whitepapers on Health Velocity Capital’s targeted investment themes as well as develop market landscapes and lists of innovative companies to be contactedRefine existing database to track and monitor sourcing activities; log new opportunities into CRM databaseTirelessly develop your network of other investors, health systems, payers, and other strategic industry connections to access deal flow and proprietary informationBe a visible presence for Health Velocity Capital at local events and at conferencesResearch and understand various policy initiativesParticipate in outreach initiatives to bolster the firm’s reach and reputation Strategic LP Management and Other Contribute to materials and summaries for annual LP meetings, advisory board meetings, limited partner off-sites and webinars, limited partner updates, and more Prepare standard strategic limited partner presentation materials and keep track of themes and companies of interest to present. Assist with preparation for bi-annual Limited Partner Advisory Committee meetingsLeverage personal skills and network to assist portfolio companies in any way; bring to bear the full weight of the firm's network on behalf of portfolio companiesMaintain comparable exit multiples database and waterfall analyses for return profilesAssist with day-to-day administrative tasks and the development of internal processes (CFO and all Partners perform as well) AI System Building & Process Enhancement Develop, test, and refine new ways of doing this role by building agentic and AI-driven workflows across sourcing, diligence, financial analysis, and LP materials, and share what works across the firmIdentify manual or repetitive processes across the firm (call notes, CRM logging, thematic work, data room analysis, etc.) and build AI-enabled workflows to automate or accelerate themStay current on new AI tools and agentic capabilities, evaluate which merit adoption, and help the team incorporate the ones that workOwn the quality of AI-assisted output: verify accuracy of any analysis or drafting done with AI tools and help establish firm practices for responsible use Qualifications College graduate with 4 - 6 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, management consulting, corporate development, and/or computer science. Candidates should be very detail-oriented, strong researchers, highly competitive, extremely passionate about healthcare and/or venture capital, have demonstrated ability to work hard, intelligent and curiousHands-on company diligence experience, including analyzing financial and operating KPIs, crafting detailed trend analyses, and distilling complicated business models into clear, concise takeawaysHighly responsive to internal and external emails and phone calls and a “nothing falls through the cracks” approach to managing timelines and processesAI-forward: actively uses AI tools in daily work today, with eagerness to experiment with agentic and AI-driven workflows rather than defaulting to how the work has always been doneViews AI as core to the job, not an add-on, and excited to help a lean investment team get leverage from these new and exciting toolsExcellent Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) skillsAnalytic and quantitative skills needed to review financial and market projections, balance sheets, and operating plans of potential and existing investmentsAbility to not just perform analyses but also present in a thoughtful, nuanced way with a story behind the presentation (versus a data dump of charts, tables, and pros/cons)Excellent verbal and written communication skills Creative, self-starter Compensation Competitive amongst firms with comparable AUM (assets under management)
