Position Overview

The Senior Assistant Merchant is responsible for supporting the Merchant or Sr. Merchant in creation and execution of omni-channel product strategy and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure execution that drives sales and margin aligned with the company’s targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of seasonal objectives for department by coordinating with cross-functional partners

  • Develops seasonal line plans to architect assortment that aligns with the company’s financial goals and needs of the business, including but not limited to pyramid and Average Unit Cost (AUC)

  • Collaborates to build compelling assortments that drive sales and margin goals while delighting the customer

  • Audits the site to ensure all content is correct so it is accurately depicted to the customer

  • Works with driving cross-functional communication and motivates the team to be customer-focused, innovative, fast, and team-oriented

  • Collaborates cross-functionally to deliver consistency in execution of great profitable product that upholds our value proposition

  • Acts as a key omni-channel liaison between design, technical design, sourcing, planning, allocation, site, and marketing partners

  • Exhibits company values and leadership principles

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, retail merchandising, or fashion merchandising

  • Experience: 1-4 years in merchant roles

  • Skills/Traits/Personal Characteristics: Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in conflict management and problem solving, intimate understanding of competition, target customer, and brand specific fashion trends, ability to innovate change through visionary thinking, flexibility and resiliency, comfortable working in “grey areas” that are constantly changing, entrepreneurial spirit with strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills, adapts to a fast-paced environment where change is constant, and communication is key

Pay Range

Annual Salary: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00

This position is eligible for an annual incentive compensation based on company performance.
