Senior Art Director

About the role

Contract position with a major financial firm. We're looking for a hands-on senior designer to lead the day-to-day design work of the team. You'll guide a group of mostly junior designers, raise the quality and consistency of what we deliver, and lead the brand work for Integrated Marketing, which includes the Institutional, Global Wealth, DC Solutions and International teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for Integrated Marketing campaigns and brand initiatives, from concept to final files.
• Art direct and review the team's work, give clear feedback, and make sure every piece meets brand and quality standards.
• Work directly with marketers: take briefs, shape scope, and set priorities with the Creative Director.
• Design hands-on across long-form documents, presentations, sales enablement materials, campaign assets and digital.
• Keep our templates and design systems current, including InDesign master templates and PowerPoint decks.
• Make sure files are accessible (ADA) and ready for compliance review.
• Coordinate handoffs with our Ireland team across time zones.
• Help roll out the new brand guidelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of design experience, with at least 2 years leading or art directing other designers.
• Financial services or other regulated industry experience.
• Asset management is a strong plus.
• Expert skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Acrobat, including accessibility tagging.
• Strong typography, layout and data visualization skills, including charts and tables.
• Clear communication and confidence with senior stakeholders.
• A portfolio that shows both leadership and hands-on craft.
• Experience with Workfront and with AI design tools is a plus.

Pay

80 - 100 per hour depending on experience.

Schedule

Hybrid in Newark, 3 days/week.
