Senior Aquatics Specialist

Senior Aquatics Specialist at Petco, located at 1933 South Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, plays a crucial part in ensuring the well-being of aquatic life. This position involves adhering to operational guidelines, completing aquatic maintenance, assessing and addressing aquatic life health and conditions, and collaborating with the CAL to manage department inventory.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all aquatic life receives appropriate care by adhering to operational guidelines, completing aquatic maintenance, assessing and addressing health and conditions.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain expertise and educate other PCC partners in aquatic care and maintenance.
• Effectively place aquatic life orders and special-order requests to maximize sales and inventory.
• Support guests and other PCC partners regarding aquatic education and care.
• Participate in aquatic life physical inventory counts and collaborate with the CAL to analyze department inventory management data.
• Stock, price, and display aquatic life and merchandise to create a great presentation for guests, including performing routine housekeeping tasks.
• Accurately complete required digital paperwork in a timely manner.
• Perform additional duties and projects as required or assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for freshwater and marine aquatic life is required. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of knowledge of aquatic life and an aptitude for sales techniques. They must also demonstrate a keen and genuine interest in animals and their care, along with good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Skills

Proficiency in mathematics and basic accounting relationships, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to utilize the Petco Animal Care Sales Model are necessary.

Benefits
