Job Summary

The Sr. Applications Engineer provides technical support for sales team members and clients in both the acquisition and fulfillment stages of equipment projects. This role requires strong customer service skills, technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, and problem-solving abilities to ensure accurate equipment delivery within a given timeframe with limited resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports sales engineers, consulting engineers, contractors, or technical buyers in system and product selection, design, and pricing during the design and fulfillment stages.
  • Reviews plans and specifications to prepare take-offs, optimize, and validate equipment selections including size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
  • Develops proposals and pricing breakdowns, evaluates equipment savings, and prepares submittals as necessary for timely production release and delivery of equipment.
  • Makes periodic job site visits as needed.
  • Maintains an accurate, organized, and updated library and database of technical information for easy access to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Holds job meetings such as cost reviews, submittals, and pre-release meetings.
  • Coordinates service and technical support during start-up and throughout the warranty period.
  • Manages multiple projects and tasks simultaneously with professionalism, flexibility, and persistence.
  • Works outside normal business hours as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (HVAC), Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology, or related technical field.
  • Two to three years of experience in the HVAC industry in applications or inside sales.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude to develop an in-depth knowledge of product offerings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, web-enabled applications, and intermediate Excel experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
