About the role

Help design and launch the critical HVAC infrastructure for a major new advanced-manufacturing facility. This position offers the opportunity to guide complex systems from design and construction through commissioning, start-up, and full-scale factory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of cleanroom, exhaust, abatement, and office HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with design consultants, contractors, vendors, operations teams, and maintenance personnel.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, tool-exhaust designs, and construction progress.
  • Support equipment preparation, operational testing, system turnover, and technical handover documentation.
  • Troubleshoot construction and start-up issues and resolve system abnormalities.
  • Provide engineering support for recirculation units, make-up air systems, exhaust systems, acid scrubbers, RCTO solvent-abatement systems, AHUs, and VAV systems.
  • Respond to cleanroom HVAC OCAP conditions involving temperature, humidity, particle levels, and exhaust pressure.
  • Monitor performance through inspections, trend analysis, capacity planning, and technical reporting.
  • Apply FMEA, root-cause analysis, and reliability-engineering principles to improve system performance.
  • Identify and implement upgrades that improve reliability, energy efficiency, safety, and production capacity.
  • Support capital projects, expense projects, system modifications, and equipment hook-ups.
  • Maintain accurate operating, maintenance, and commissioning procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Five or more years of HVAC engineering experience covering design and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, exhaust systems, controls, chilled-water systems, cooling towers, and cleanroom standards.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, pharmaceutical, data-center, or industrial-facility experience preferred.
  • Design, construction, commissioning, and start-up experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional Engineer license is a plus.

The role will initially support Tempe and Peoria construction activities before transitioning to Peoria for factory operations.
