Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality, enterprise-scale Android applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack/Jetpack Compose, Android application architecture, REST APIs, and backend integrations. The candidate will work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, QA teams, and other stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, high-performance mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications.
- Develop modern Android applications using Kotlin and Android SDK.
- Build responsive and user-friendly mobile interfaces using Jetpack Compose and/or Android UI frameworks.
- Implement scalable application architectures using MVVM, Clean Architecture, or similar patterns.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, microservices, third-party SDKs, and backend services.
- Work with JSON, authentication, networking, and client-server communication.
- Develop reusable, maintainable, and testable code.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, responsiveness, and battery consumption.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.
- Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
- Perform code reviews and follow established coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with QA teams to develop and execute unit, integration, and UI testing.
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Use Git and established branching/version-control practices.
- Support CI/CD processes and mobile application release activities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android Studio.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, MVP, or Clean Architecture.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, Retrofit/OkHttp, and backend integrations.
- Experience with Gradle and Android build systems.
- Strong experience with Git/source control.
- Experience with Android lifecycle, threading, coroutines, and asynchronous programming.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger/Hilt.
- Experience with local data storage such as Room/SQLite.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience developing applications in an enterprise or large-scale environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Java in addition to Kotlin.
- Experience with GraphQL.
- Experience with Firebase services.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and automated mobile application deployment.
- Experience with mobile application security and authentication.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs.
- Experience with financial services, banking, or other regulated environments.
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications through the Google Play Store.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
