Senior Android Developer

Job Summary Our client, a leading media and entertainment industry provider, is seeking a Senior Android Developer who can hit the ground running on a high-visibility, business-critical project. Contract Details:Contract duration – 6-12 months + possibility of extensions Work location – Orlando, FL Onsite interview in Orlando, FL required – local candidates only!Corporate policy is up to 4 days onsite, 1 day remote / week (will vary depending on location/manager/team)Bachelor’s degree is required This position is W-2 only. Core Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications for a Point of Sale (POS) platformHelp modernize the Android codebase while supporting existing applications built on older Android frameworksWork with Java, Kotlin coroutines, XML, and Jetpack Compose as the team transitions to newer Android technologiesIntegrate Android applications with backend services and APIsWrite clean, maintainable code following modern architecture patterns and Android best practicesCollaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders in an Agile environmentLeverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude Code to improve productivityRequired Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) Bachelor’s degree is requiredStrong, hands-on experience developing native Android applications (not Flutter, React Native, or other cross-platform frameworks)Deep understanding of Android architecture, modern development practices, and legacy Android frameworks (Android 11/13 environments)Experience with Java, Kotlin, coroutines, XML, and Jetpack ComposeExperience integrating Android applications with backend services/APIsAbility to produce clean, scalable, well-architected codePreferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Point of Sale (POS) or retail application developmentKey Competencies & Behaviors A seasoned Android developer who can contribute immediately with minimal ramp-upSomeone who is self-sufficient, organized, and comfortable managing their own work in an Agile environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills with teammates and cross-functional partnersA high performer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while maintaining a low-ego, team-first mindsetCandidates who can clearly articulate the impact they've made, the problems they've solved, and the technical decisions behind their workWork Environment Location: Orlando, FLCompensation & Benefits Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $55.00 and $78.00.
