Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytical Chemist to support analytical method development, validation, and troubleshooting for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. This individual will play a key role in supporting manufacturing and R&D operations by providing technical expertise, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.

Position Overview

This position requires strong analytical chemistry expertise, hands-on instrumentation experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, qualify, and transfer analytical test methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products
  • Perform complex chemical analyses and interpret analytical data to support manufacturing, quality, and R&D initiatives
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation including: GC, DSC, FTIR, UV-Vis, GPC, Particle Size Analysis, NIR, Auto-titrators
  • Lead and support investigation studies, including out-of-specification (OOS) investigations
  • Execute analytical method development plans and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Collaborate with technical teams on research projects, product introductions, and non-conforming material investigations
  • Support laboratory procedures related to analytical and physical property testing
  • Troubleshoot analytical and physical property testing issues to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Prepare technical summaries and reports to support regulatory and quality compliance requirements
  • Care for equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, and calibration activities
  • Identify instrumentation improvements and support capital justification initiatives
  • Manage third-party laboratory service vendors and contracts as needed
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior chemists and laboratory staff
  • Support GMP and ISO compliance initiatives within the laboratory environment

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
  • - Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with 5+ years of related industry experience, OR
  • - Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry with 10+ years of related experience
  • Strong background in:
  • - Method validation
  • - Technical transfer activities
  • - GMP-regulated environments
  • Required Skills & Technical Expertise
  • Technical Skills
  • - Advanced knowledge of chromatography and spectroscopy techniques
  • - Strong understanding of organic chemistry and chemical transformations
  • - Hands-on experience implementing and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation
  • - Experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS) is a plus
  • - Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • - Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities
  • - Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • - Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • - Customer-focused mindset with strong internal and external relationship-building abilities
  • - Ability to make sound decisions under pressure while balancing urgency, quality, and risk

Work Environment

- Laboratory environment

- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

- Occasional travel between sites may be required

- Flexibility to support operational needs outside standard business hours when necessary

Additional Information

- Full-time, exempt position

- Reports directly to the Technical Manager
