About the role

The Revenue Planning team oversees reporting, forecasting, and analytical functions for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity, and Silversea brands. Key responsibilities include forecasting cruise revenues and customer deposit cashflows, providing senior management with analysis summarizing business conditions, and involvement in quarterly Earnings Call preparations.

The Senior Analyst will have consistent interactions with senior leadership in regularly preparing ad-hoc statistical analyses on varied topics including business conditions, demand trends, and pricing trends. The role involves providing clear, data-supported recommendations for future opportunities and changes in strategy based on analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor in the development of ticket, shipboard, and other auxiliary revenue forecasts in excess of $12 billion, directly influencing external financial guidance and reporting.
  • Provide weekly updates to the CFO on any risk or opportunity to the Forecast/Plan, including Net Ticket Revenue, Shipboard Revenue, and Other Revenue, along with new trend analysis and changes in behavior.
  • Manage and serve as subject matter expert for the monthly Customer Deposit forecast and modeling (over $12B in collections annually) and monthly results accuracy reporting. This includes a complex forecast process, managing and evaluating accuracy, and aligning with internal partners (RMDS and Corporate Planning) on forecast accuracy and model enhancements. This forecast is a key input for corporate liquidity forecasts guiding financing decisions.
  • Prepare analyses, schedules, and presentations for quarterly earnings calls, quarterly review decks, Board of Directors presentations, Executive Committee meetings, and other senior leadership presentations.
  • Regularly prepare detailed ad-hoc statistical analyses on business conditions, demand trends, and pricing trends.
  • Continuously search for potential business improvements, revenue opportunities, and efficiency gains—develop, implement, and lead projects that capture such opportunities.
  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, and guidance to a team of analysts in all aspects of revenue management and financial analysis.
  • Work alongside RM Development and Systems and Data Visualization teams to develop and improve revenue tools and PowerBI Dashboards, facilitating better decision-making, reporting, forecasting, and automation.
  • Manage relationships with Revenue Management, Corporate Planning, Treasury, and other areas to ensure financial data is effectively communicated and understood.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Three or more years of work experience in an analytical field.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Familiarity with revenue management concepts and demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze, and interpret large and complex volumes of data to deliver useful insights to peers and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion, and Essbase/EPM.
  • Ability to logically structure complex quantitative analyses.
  • Strong communication skills for both business and technical audiences in spoken and written formats.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects independently with strong time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality, clear, and concise presentations.
  • Ability to articulate the "why" behind data, not just the "what."
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated maturity.
  • Ability to teach and coach a team of analysts.
