About the Role

Pathward’s Senior Analyst, Quality Control performs independent quality review across BSA/AML & Sanctions Operations — alerts, cases, complex investigations, merchant acquiring, and sanctions dispositions. Using UAT-measured review times, the Senior Analyst executes the weekly QC sample, classifies findings against the error taxonomy, and provides objective, examiner-ready feedback that improves narrative and disposition quality without holding production disposition rights.

What You Will Do

  • Execute the weekly QC sample across alerts, cases, complex investigations, merchant acquiring, and sanctions dispositions.
  • Assess each item against the five-element documentation baseline and the Knowledgeable Third-Party Standard.
  • Classify findings using the error taxonomy (critical, significant, administrative) and document rationale clearly and consistently.
  • Provide constructive, objective feedback to analysts and investigators; participate in monthly calibration sessions.
  • Identify recurring quality themes and escalate to the QC Lead for thematic review and effective-challenge follow-up.
  • Maintain QC working papers in the results repository; support audit and examination requests with evidence of review.
  • Preserve independence — perform read-only review only, with no production disposition authority.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • CAMS preferred; if not held, expected to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • 5+ years of BSA/AML alert review, investigations, or QC/QA experience.
  • Proficiency with Actimize, FCRM, and/or Bridger and case-management workflows.
  • Prior quality-review, peer-review, or independent-testing exposure preferred.
  • Strong analytical and pattern-recognition skills with an eye for documentation quality.
  • Objectivity and consistency in applying sampling and error-taxonomy standards.
  • Clear written communication at examiner-ready standard.
  • Working knowledge of Excel data analysis and SharePoint.
  • Collaborative, constructive feedback orientation.

Products & Services Knowledge

The Senior Analyst, Quality Control is expected to recognize product-specific red flags and confirm that dispositions reflect them across:

  • Card Issuing / Prepaid — GPR, payroll, corporate disbursement, gift, and government/student cards, including source-of-funds and customer vs. non-customer designations.
  • Acquiring (Merchant & ATM) — merchant/ISO/payment-facilitator and ATM cash-access typologies.
  • Tax Products — refund-transfer and advance activity and related seasonal typologies.
  • Digital Payments & Faster Payments (Visa Direct / Mastercard Send) — push/pull disbursement dispositions.
  • Sanctions (OFAC / 314(a) / PEP) — screening dispositions and match/no-match documentation standards.
