Senior Analyst - Inventory
Responsibilities
- Ensures execution of daily, weekly and monthly production reports, including validating report data, maintaining source codes, and making changes.
- Develops and executes on demand and ad-hoc reports, including modifying report parameters or source code based on specific needs, ability to explain report, and summarizing findings.
- Provides field support by answering questions on report logic or data, including ability to identify problems and recommend right tools and reports to meet specific needs and requests.
- Handles report design and development from gathering requirements to writing Teradata SQL, setting up Microsoft Access databases and writing macros in Excel.
- Gathers and reviews change requests, implements or coordinates implementation of approved changes.
- Works with other functional departments including data services and information systems to identify problems and enhancement opportunities to perform user acceptance testing and other required tasks.
- Supports in-house Automated Stock Replenishment (ASR) program, answer field questions, validates and troubleshoots issues, and works with IT, purchasing teams and customer service to resolve problems and correct impact.
- Handles functional support for purchasing and inventory tools and systems across all organizational levels. Answers questions, validates data, gathers information for IT and other departments.
- Translates business questions into report or analytics requirements and finds solutions based on existing tools and reports, or proposes possible solutions and presents these to management.
- Handles all centralized maintenance tasks ranging from mass upload of inventory attributes to cost markup and markdown programs.
- Administers corporate level programs, including limits of purchasing authorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or similar quantitative discipline.
- Proven ability to use advanced functionality of Microsoft Access and Excel for data analysis and report formatting. Statistical software a plus.
- Knowledge of data extraction, data mining and statistical analysis. SQL development skills, ability to write complex SQL queries. Familiarity with Teradata a plus.
- Solid communication and support skills. Ability to explain complex concepts and analytics to non-technical audience. Strong PC skills, extensive experience with advanced functionality in Microsoft Access (VBA coding) and Excel (macros, pivot tables, data lookups, etc.).
- Attention to details, passion for problem-solving, creative thinking and comfort with ambiguity of requirements and expected results.
- Able to work independently, check your results, troubleshoot problems and exercise judgment.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritize and handle many projects at once with ever shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Able to follow established processes and schedule to deliver timely and consistent report execution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of distribution industry and supply chain, purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures.
Pay
$28.76 - $37.40 Per Hour. This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
