Senior Analyst, HRIS - Workday
About the Role
As ICU Medical transitions to Workday, this role will support the implementation of Workday, with a focus on the Integrations and Reporting/Analytics workstreams. The position will assist with requirements documentation, testing, data validation, reporting, and post-go-live support. Working under the direction of the Workday Program Manager, the HRIS Manager, and senior project team members, this role will partner with functional HR, Finance, IT, and Training business leaders to ensure integrations requirements are collected and mirrored in the Workday platform. Reporting and Analytics will be a key focus, ensuring current data reporting remains available and no business gaps are created with the deployment.
This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado, California, Connecticut, Montana, Maine, or New York.
Responsibilities
- Workday Report Development
- Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) and complex calculated fields across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Talent, and Payroll.
- Build reporting solutions that account for Workday security model impacts (domain, role-based, and user-based security), ensuring accurate, appropriately scoped data for each audience.
- Build and manage dashboards and discovery boards to deliver self-service analytics to HR leadership and COE partners.
- Serve as an escalation point for report defects, performance issues, and complex data interpretation questions.
- Evaluate new reporting features with each biannual Workday release.
- Integrations
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations using EIB, XSLT, Document Transformation, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Studio, and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
- Develop and support inbound and outbound integrations across Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and various third-party vendors.
- Partner with Workday analysts and business stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs.
- Own the full integration lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, UAT, deployment, and post-production support.
- Design and maintain custom reports that serve as data sources for outbound integrations, including web service-enabled reports (RaaS) consumed by downstream systems and vendors.
- Develop integration audit, reconciliation, and error reporting to monitor data flows between Workday and connected systems.
- Partner with the HRIS team on reporting requirements for integrations built on EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, and Orchestrate, and validate report-based integration outputs during testing cycles and biannual releases.
- Ensure all integrations comply with data privacy, security, and audit requirements, aligning with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Team & Platform Partnership
- Support Workday bi-annual releases by assessing potential impacts, conducting regression testing, and implementing required updates.
- Collaborate closely with the HRIS team on configuration changes, integrations, and platform enhancements that affect reporting.
- Mentor report writers and analysts, and contribute to reporting standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
- Advise on data quality, governance, and audit readiness, and identify opportunities to extend analytics beyond native Workday via Prism Analytics or Power BI.
Requirements
- Strong technical expertise in Workday integrations (EIB, XSLT, DT, Core Connectors, Studio, SOAP/REST).
- Experience supporting integrations across Workday HCM and Financials.
- Ability to gather and translate business requirements into scalable, reliable integration solutions.
- Proficiency with web services and APIs.
- Advanced skills in Workday calculated fields and report creation.
- Strong ability to prioritize work, manage time independently, and follow through on tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic project management skills, including scoping work, planning tasks, and communicating progress.
- Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with other departments.
- Self-starter with a creative problem-solving mindset and a continuous improvement approach.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience, is preferred.
- 6+ years of hands-on Workday reporting and integrations development and support experience in a production environment.
- Proficiency in EIB, XSLT, DT, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Studio, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
- Working knowledge of Workday Security concepts including domain and business process security policies, security groups, and ISU configuration.
- Proficiency in creating complex calculated fields and reports.
- Workday Certification preferred.
Work Environment
This is largely a sedentary role. Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
