About the role

Join our Strategic Sourcing team as a Senior Analyst, Category Management in the Greater Richmond, VA area. In this role, you will support direct material categories critical to product manufacturing, quality, and supply continuity. Working closely with suppliers and internal business partners, you will help develop sourcing strategies, drive procurement initiatives, analyze market opportunities, and support supplier performance to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Quality, Product Development, Packaging, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure supplier and material compliance with business requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of category strategies to enhance supply security, achieve financial objectives, and drive long-term category growth.
  • Demonstrate procurement expertise and market intelligence to evaluate sourcing opportunities and identify best-value supplier solutions.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships while supporting negotiations to optimize quality, service, innovation, and cost outcomes.
  • Analyze supplier performance, market trends, and supply risks to find opportunities, address challenges, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by finding opportunities to streamline products, suppliers, and procurement processes.
  • Conduct spend analysis, financial modeling, supplier benchmarking, and data-driven evaluations to support sourcing decisions and category recommendations.
  • Lead and support cross-functional sourcing, supplier transition, product launch, and process improvement projects while managing multiple workstreams efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of leading direct material sourcing, supplier relationships, or category strategies supporting manufacturing operations, product supply, and production continuity.
  • Experience sourcing direct materials, including raw materials, packaging materials, ingredients, components, or related production categories; experience in a regulated environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and projects while delivering effective written, verbal, and presentation communications.
  • Strong financial competence with experience performing spend analysis, cost modeling, supplier evaluations, and case development.
  • Experience supporting focused sourcing, supplier coordination, category supervision, or purchasing programs within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of supplier relationship management, sourcing methodologies, negotiation practices, and category management principles.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective partnerships with internal and external partners without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable recommendations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $91,500.00 - $132,750.00, based on experience, knowledge, and qualifications.
