About the role

We're looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Product team on a full-time basis in our Houston office.

Responsibilities

  • Drawing on your background, you'll take ownership of either the crude oil or refined products module, with responsibility for daily index generation, methodology alignment, and relationship-building with market participants and data contributors in your segment.
  • Beyond the core pricing function, you will:
    • Develop trade and data-driven market insights that contextualize price movements.
    • Partner with Commercial and other teams to help clients understand and adopt GX data.
    • Contribute to the identification and development of new markets, from early research through to index launch.
    • Support GX webinars, publications, and other thought-leadership content.
    • Mentor junior analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices across the team.
    • Embed AI tooling into every day work flows to improve efficiencies.

Requirements

  • A BA/BS is required, with preference towards numerate subjects such as Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
  • You have experience using AI tools thoughtfully and critically, knowing when and how to apply them to accelerate your work while maintaining accuracy and professional standards.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the crude oil or refined products markets at a recognized Price Reporting Agency (PRA) is required.
  • Expert knowledge of Americas crude oil or refined products pricing methodology is required.
  • Comfortable sourcing and building relationships with data providers.
  • Solution driven, naturally curious, possess a high level of numerical ability, and have the willingness to learn and adopt new technology.
  • Your accuracy and attention to detail are exceptional.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the confidence and ability to present and articulate a topic clearly.
  • An interest in commodities, with a strong desire to learn more about the mechanics of pricing.
  • A commitment to understand and demonstrate GX’s core values.
