Senior Analyst - Accounts Receivable

As a Senior Analyst in Accounts Receivable, you will handle more complex research and may assist junior team members. You will answer policy and procedure questions, provide training as delegated by supervisors, ensure application work is completed, and support departmental goals and personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and posts payments to correct customer accounts, including complex evaluated receipt settlement (ERS) customers, which may require detailed reconciliations and research within Oracle and other accounts receivable systems.
  • Performs cash application of customer payments as documented by customer remittance advice, including clearing customer invoices, creating chargebacks (short payments), retaining unapplied cash, and processing small dollar write-offs according to departmental guidelines.
  • Prepares required journal entries (e.g., memo trans types for fund transfers, NSFs) with appropriate backup documentation for field accounting or other departments.
  • Researches customer payment history and bank deposits to correct errors, analyzes and reconciles account postings through research and adjustments.
  • Interfaces with customers, financial services, and branches to determine appropriate receipt remittance application.
  • Maintains documentation for audit purposes.
  • Accesses bank deposit information and reporting for EFT, FedWire, Check, and other payment methods; reviews system reports, reconciles errors, and applies payments.
  • Balances, posts, and applies payments deposited to local bank accounts; accesses customer websites to acquire remittance documents.
  • Reads, understands, and adheres to corporate and departmental policies and procedures, including the Code of Business Ethics.
  • Responds to inquiries received in the general cash application email inbox to correct and document identified errors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 3 years of experience in Accounting reconciliations or Cash Application is required.
  • 3 years of experience with MS Office products (Outlook and Excel).
  • Basic knowledge of accounting reconciliations, accounts receivable, and cash application is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and work in an intense productivity environment with tight deadlines is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed, including mandatory overtime during statement cutoff dates and month-end.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and V-lookup skills preferred) and basic math skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on exceptional customer service.
  • Experience with PC Windows, Microsoft Office, and general office equipment (copiers, fax machines, etc.) is preferred.

Pay

$26.02 - $32.53 per hour. Offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or collective bargaining agreements. Eligible positions may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan.
