Key Responsibilities
- Manage a dedicated applicant caseload and serve as the primary admissions team expert and leader for a specific portfolio of academic programs.
- Act as the strategic owner of these "territories," monitoring their overall pipeline health from prospect to matriculation.
- Proactively Outreach: Conduct consistent, personalized outreach to prospective students and applicants to drive engagement and conversion throughout all stages of the application funnel.
- Advising & Support: Provide detailed information regarding academic programs, the Bank Street philosophy, admissions requirements, and the application process to ensure candidates are well-qualified and prepared. Make connections to the Financial Aid team as appropriate and serve as a main point of contact for prospective students and applicants.
- Application Review: Serve as a core member of the admissions committee by reading and evaluating applications to determine institutional fit and minimum application requirements by program.
- Recruitment & Events: Help plan and represent the institution at on-campus, online, and off-campus recruitment events, presenting a professional and knowledgeable face for the organization, and building relationships with prospective students and partners. Own and facilitate information sessions and recruitment events tailored to your assigned programs, while proactively identifying and suggesting new marketing avenues and recruitment initiatives to expand your pipeline.
- Internal Partnership: Work directly with internal academic partners to resolve applicant questions and ensure prospects are moving through the admissions process seamlessly. Build strong relationships with faculty within your assigned programs and optimize opportunities for collaboration for recruitment and applicant advising.
- Post-Acceptance Work & Advisement: Work directly with admitted and matriculating students to provide ongoing support and guidance, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed in their studies.
About the Role
The Office of Graduate Admissions is responsible for recruiting, nurturing, and advising prospective students from initial interest to matriculation. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer is the primary point of contact for the prospective students, applicants, and matriculants, providing high-touch support and serving as an essential ambassador for Bank Street, ultimately fostering long-term relationships that carry through to enrollment.
This dynamic position combines relationship-building with data-informed strategy, requiring active participation in on- and off-campus recruitment, including some travel, application reviews, and internal academic partnerships.
