About the Role

Provides full administrative support to the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and the Assistant Vice President.

Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors, callers, and guests in a professional manner; serves as a resource for inquiries related to the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and the University.
  • Performs computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and database, and transcription from a variety of materials.
  • Processes budget transactions for the Assistant Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development.
  • Manages multiple budget accounts, including processing purchase requisitions and invoices, managing fixed asset reports, and reviewing internal charges.
  • Sources and allocates space reservations for Economic and Workforce Development programming.
  • Schedules appointments and meetings, including internal and external events and travel arrangements for the Office of Economic and Workforce Development and Assistant Vice President.
  • Provides customer service support for Office of Economic and Workforce Development initiatives and events.
  • Organizes and distributes materials and mailings.
  • Handles confidential matters.
  • Updates and maintains departmental websites as necessary and appropriate.
  • Manages current filing systems and electronic recordkeeping, email, and communications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships within and external to the organization.
  • Experience in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Demonstrated budget management skills.
  • Previous work experience that evidences a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service.
