Senior Accounting Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for land development entities.
- Oversee financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and budget-to-actual analyses.
- Manage accounting for land acquisitions, development costs, lot inventory, joint ventures, and land transactions.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and internal accounting policies.
- Partner with land acquisition, development, finance, and operational teams to provide financial guidance on development projects.
- Drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and standardize accounting practices.
- Mentor, develop, and lead Staff and Senior Accountants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's and CPA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Required experience in homebuilding, land development, or real estate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
- Experience accounting for land acquisitions, development costs, lot inventory, and land joint ventures.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency with strong analytical and communication skills.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and process improvements while managing and developing a team of accounting professionals.
