Responsibilities

  • Lead and support staff accountants.
  • Perform full-cycle month-end close functions in accounting software systems.
  • Run monthly close reporting.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly journal entries, including reviewing and approving journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and other accounts monthly and as needed.
  • Review and approve balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Create financial reports based on data analytics.
  • Support and manage interactions with internal and external auditors.
  • Ensure all transaction support documentation is processed, maintained, and filed accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and submit documents as required by established internal controls.
  • Build courteous and effective relationships with office staff to maintain efficient practices.
  • Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, support, and a positive attitude within the department and office.
  • Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverage, technology, and professional development, including continuing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a CPA designation or equivalent certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of financial accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Four to seven years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.
  • Experience with Workday Financials.
  • Insurance brokerage experience (preferred).

Skills & Experience

  • To be successful, the candidate should have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in data entry and data management.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office environment, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Four to seven years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience.
  • Experience with Workday Financials (preferred).
  • Insurance brokerage experience (preferred).

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
