Senior Accounting Analyst
We are seeking a motivated accounting professional to contribute to a growing, multi-site organization by driving operational excellence, enhancing financial processes, and partnering with leaders across the business.
About the role
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, works independently with minimal supervision, and is eager to improve processes and drive efficiency. The Accounting Manager is a key communicator across the organization, partnering with other site leaders in the finance team. This is a hybrid role based in our new corporate headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, reporting to the VP Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and period-end close processes for corporate
- Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and fixed assets
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Review lease arrangements, determine accounting and ensure compliance with ASC 842, Leases
- Reconcile corporate bank accounts and intercompany balances
- Enhance controls within processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis
- Administer and maintain Sage Accounting for the corporate general ledger
- Support ERP and systems improvements
- Support monthly consolidation process and prepare consolidated results of the company
- Assist with providing documentation required by tax advisors for preparation of federal and state tax returns
- Assist with the year-end audit and lead audit support for corporate-related audit requests
- Participate in monthly review of corporate’s results and prepare commentary
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, and incorporate AI and automation into accounting functions
- Partner with leadership to bring data-driven recommendations that improve the business
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members
- Independently troubleshoot issues and develop solutions without waiting for direction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required
- Certified Public Accountant, required
- 4 - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, required
- Hands-on experience with Sage Accounting preferred
- Hands-on experience with a consolidation ERP, Planful preferred
- Experience with month close for a multi-site entity
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with data analysis
- Knowledge of US GAAP
- Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity and improve accounting processes
