Senior Accounting Analyst
Responsibilities
- Participate in the monthly close process, including preliminary review of financial statements, preparation and posting of journal entries, and explanation of variances
- Assist with the annual financial statement audit, including preparation of the financial statements and coordinating with the external auditors and providing supporting documentation
- Analyze and reconcile various general ledger accounts monthly and in accordance with the monthly close calendar
- Analyze and implement new accounting standards in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS
- Prepare technical accounting memos and assist in the development of accounting policies
- Maintain procedures to comply with internal control requirements and identify process improvements and efficiencies
- Aid plants and other departments with various topics and issues as they arise and mentor finance personnel
- Absorb a continuous improvement mindset across all company processes
- Aid with the preparation and presentation of quarterly financial updates for plant and segment finance
- Aid with the overall maintenance of financial systems and software and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (master’s degree, MBA preferred), CPA preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience (public accounting experience a plus)
- Strong analytical and accounting skills, including knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
- Automotive or manufacturing industry experience a plus
- ERP system experience required; Plex, OneStream experience a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, communication and writing skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritize
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work across all departments and vertically at all levels of the organization
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
