Senior Accountant - Real Estate

About the role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant for our Real Estate team. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial management for our vast portfolio of real estate assets. The candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of financial statements, year-end close, and fund accounting. Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee and coordinate the year-end close process, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with external auditors.
• Responsible for REIT accounting and compliance.
• Manage fund accounting, including capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
• Perform detailed financial analysis and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management.
• Collaborate with the property management team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property-level financial results.
• Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in the real estate or construction industry, with a focus on multifamily real estate.
• Proven experience in REIT accounting, fund accounting, and year-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work output.

$90,000 - $120,000 per year
