Senior Accountant - Real Estate

About the role

Oliver James have recently partnered with a highly successful global alternative asset manager as they seek to hire a Senior Accountant to oversee the end-to-end investment life cycle of the real estate assets across their $30b AUM real estate platform. The role based in Manhattan will see the Senior Accountant be responsible for a wide variety of duties including fund reporting, reviewing property financials and forecasts, supporting acquisitions and dispositions, tracking deal performance, financial reporting, process improvements etc.

Responsibilities

• Review property financials and perform quarterly forecasts, as well as carry out review of disposition gains/losses, waterfall calculations and promote allocations.
• Execute and oversee detailed investment-level processes related to acquisitions, management and disposition of real estate assets;
• Analyse and interpret large volumes of property, financial and operational data to support fund reporting and business decisions.
• Track deal performance and collaborate with the deal teams and asset management to support execution of business plans
• Ad-hoc projects and streamline processes across reporting, data management and operational workflows as required.
• Overseeing and mentoring a team of fund administrators

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience within the real estate/private equity/asset management sector.
• Public Accounting and/or Private Sector experience (Asset/Investment Management).
• Understanding of fund accounting, valuations and financial reporting.
• Strong desire to work within the real estate sector.
• CPA qualification is desired.
