Senior Accountant - Healthcare
About the role
We are partnering with a growing healthcare organization seeking two Senior Accountants to join its accounting team. These positions will support the financial operations of physician practices and work closely with accounting and operational leadership across the organization. This is a hands-on accounting role ideal for someone with healthcare industry experience who is comfortable owning key areas of the general ledger, supporting month-end close, and managing accounting activity across a multi-entity or multi-location environment. Two positions are currently available, supporting healthcare practices in Indiana and Pennsylvania. Position can be remote - Must live in IN, PA, NC, MD, NJ, DE, TX, TN, WV, GA, FL or Ohio.

Responsibilities
- Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments
- Complete payroll, work with fixed assets and lease accounting
- Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Review financial activity and investigate account discrepancies or unusual variances
- Support accounting activities for assigned physician practices and operating entities
- Partner with practice and operational leaders to resolve accounting-related questions
- Assist with financial reporting and month-end analysis
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation and accounting schedules
- Support audit requests and internal accounting initiatives
- Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
- Work cross-functionally with finance, accounting, and healthcare operations teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Healthcare accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close
- Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles
- Ability to manage multiple entities, locations, or business units
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Pay
$80,000 - $90,000 per year
