Job Title: Senior AccountantJob Description The Senior Accountant role offers an opportunity to join a growing accounting team in Tequesta, FL and play a critical role in supporting the organization’s continued expansion into new markets and increasing accounting complexity across multiple entities. This position manages core accounting functions, including financial reporting, multi-entity general ledger management, tax compliance, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and construction-related accounting activities. The Senior Accountant works closely with leadership, gains broad visibility across projects and operations, and contributes to building scalable, efficient financial processes. Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and prepare accurate and timely journal entries.Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, ensuring all deadlines and reporting requirements are met.Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports to support informed decision-making.Manage account reconciliations and resolve complex accounting issues across multiple entities.Support multi-state corporate, sales/use, payroll, and income tax compliance, including preparation and review of related filings.Prepare and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and progress billing information for construction and project-based activities.Track and reconcile inventory balances and fixed assets across multiple locations and entities.Maintain depreciation schedules and asset records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.Review contracts and assess the accounting implications of contract terms, providing guidance to leadership and operations.Support annual financial audits and tax preparation efforts by coordinating documentation and responding to auditor and tax preparer inquiries.Coordinate accounting activities across multiple related entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy in reporting.Assist with payroll-related accounting, including posting payroll entries and reconciling related liabilities.Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement accounting best practices to enhance efficiency and control.Support special projects related to new business operations, multi-state expansions, and other growth initiatives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and leadership, to provide financial insight and support strategic initiatives. Essential Skills Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Experience with construction, manufacturing, or project-based industry accounting.Multi-state corporate, sales/use, payroll, and income tax compliance experience.Experience preparing or supporting Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and progress billing.Fixed asset accounting experience, including tracking, capitalization, and maintaining depreciation schedules.Inventory accounting experience in a multi-entity or operationally complex environment.Demonstrated experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Strong background in account reconciliations and general ledger management.Experience using QuickBooks Enterprise or a similar ERP system in a multi-entity environment.Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.Strong problem-solving abilities and a process-improvement mindset.Effective communication and organizational skills to collaborate across departments and with leadership. Additional Skills & Qualifications Contract review experience, including evaluation of financial and accounting implications.Certified payroll experience, particularly in construction or project-based environments.Experience supporting multi-state business expansions and new market entries.Experience with Paycor payroll systems.Cost accounting experience in construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.Knowledge of lien law and related payroll tax and audit support requirements.Prior experience in a contract-to-hire environment or growth-stage organization.Demonstrated ability to influence and improve accounting processes and internal controls.Interest in tax strategy, process optimization, and building scalable financial operations. Work Environment This position is based in a professional office setting in Tequesta, FL, supporting construction and manufacturing operations. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, generally between standard daytime business hours, and operates on a 100% onsite basis to facilitate close collaboration with the accounting team and operational leadership. Occasional travel to other company facilities may be required to support multi-entity operations and expansion initiatives. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jupiter, FL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $57.69/hr.
