Senior Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a well-established organization in the Wayne, NJ area to identify a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their skills in cost accounting, as the client is willing to train the right candidate in this area.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assist with month-end close
• Support inventory accounting, including raw materials and finished goods reconciliations
• Learn and assist with standard cost accounting and manufacturing variance analysis
• Partner with operations to analyze financial data and identify opportunities for improved efficiency
• Aid in budgeting, forecasting, and operational reporting
• Cook up and coordinate physical inventory counts and support internal and external audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience working with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 or GP is a plus
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
