Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant ready to advance their career or a Senior Accountant with experience in Entertainment or Hospitality. This role is ideal for someone with multi-state experience who thrives in a company dedicated to creating lasting memories for youth and families through world-class gaming experiences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with GAAP.
• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies and issues.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reclasses, and account analyses.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to management.
• Support internal and external audit requests, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and controls.
• Assist with process improvements and accounting projects to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with departments across the organization to gather financial data, clarify transactions, and support operational initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment.
• Strong month-end close experience, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal control concepts.
• Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Skills

• Experience using NetSuite or other cloud-based ERP systems.
• Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience.
• Background in retail, hospitality, entertainment, restaurant, service, or PE-backed organizations.
• Experience supporting process improvement initiatives and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in accounting or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Excel) are a plus.
