Senior Accountant

About the role

The Sr. Accountant will support the Finance function by developing and enhancing timely, accurate, and actionable reporting and analysis while ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role focuses on the technical aspects of Accounting and Controlling, requiring collaboration with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of internal control policy and procedure documentation, as well as process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain an accurate vendor master database in Oracle EBS, including adding new vendors and confirming bank payment instructions.
• Assist the Controller and Assistant Controller in the development of monthly results and account analysis.
• Support the monthly financial statement close process.
• Utilize financial reporting applications, including Oracle EBS, GLWand, and Hyperion.
• Enter and update records in the Sage database for assets placed in service and depreciation projections.
• Assist in data gathering, analysis, and respond to audit requests and inquiries.
• Support sales tax reporting compliance in conjunction with the Manager, Tax.
• Engage in continuous improvement projects and tasks.
• Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
• Follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; Master’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of practical experience in an operating/product-driven company, public accounting, or a mix of both.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience in an ERP environment required; Oracle EBS experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong time management skills to complete tasks accurately and on schedule while supporting daily operations.
• Results-driven with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
• High level of customer service, personal integrity, and professionalism in internal and external communications.

Working Conditions

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive tasks.
• Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, twist, lift, and move files.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where applicable.
