About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations and help maintain accurate financial records. This role plays a key part in the monthly close cycle, balance sheet integrity, and day-to-day ledger activity. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple accounting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly closing activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording, analyzing, and validating financial transactions across assigned accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support, ensuring entries comply with accounting policies and reporting deadlines.
- Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts on a recurring basis, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Review payroll-related accounting activity to confirm proper recording, accruals, and alignment with financial records.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial data, clarify variances, and improve accuracy across accounting processes.
- Support audit readiness by organizing documentation, maintaining reconciliations, and responding to requests for financial detail.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with hands-on responsibility for general ledger management and monthly close.
- Strong working knowledge of journal entry preparation, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
- Familiarity with payroll accounting and the ability to ensure related transactions are properly reflected in the books.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and standard financial reporting practices.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
