Senior Accountant
Our client operates in the digital infrastructure development sector, focusing on large-scale projects, including hyperscaler leases involving more than 500 MW of powered land. They address the challenges of capital-intensive infrastructure development by scaling systems, processes, and teams to support continued growth in a complex environment.
About the role
This position provides critical support to the Controller by managing detailed accounting functions essential to the organization’s development and financial operations. The Senior Accountant plays a hands-on role in building and refining accounting processes while supporting financial reporting, treasury operations, and ERP implementation. The role is pivotal in ensuring accurate capitalization and project accounting as the organization continues to scale.
Responsibilities
- Manage and own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close calendar
- Prepare journal entries, lead account reconciliations, and perform variance analysis to maintain audit-ready financials
- Rebuild treasury processes, including bank account management and cash positioning
- Prepare cash reconciliations and establish disciplined cash management processes
- Collaborate with project teams to track project funding and disbursements
- Support ERP implementation from requirements gathering through go-live, with a focus on process redesign and automation
- Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership, investors, and board review
- Maintain proactive communication with the Controller and CFO, identifying issues early and recommending solutions
- Support internal and external reporting requirements for auditors, lenders, and investors
- Manage procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes, including vendor payments and customer invoicing
- Support the capitalization of development and construction costs and maintain construction-in-progress schedules
- Draft accounting policies and technical memoranda related to capitalization, lease accounting, and revenue recognition
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA with at least 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in capital-intensive industries
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including U.S. GAAP, project accounting, construction in progress, capitalization policies, and ASC 842 lease accounting
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Operational accounting experience, including treasury or cash management
- Prior ERP implementation or systems conversion experience preferred
- Clear, proactive communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective processes in an evolving environment
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when balancing rigor with practicality
Pay
Reasonable compensation range of $90,000-$110,000 annually, plus an annual bonus program.
