About the role
The Senior Accountant will oversee all project-related transactions, including revenue recognition, billable costs, and billing schedules. This role provides accounting support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and month-end close processes.
Responsibilities
- Work with project managers to ensure timely and accurate recording of project-related transactions.
- Maintain detailed reports for all contracts, track billable costs, oversee revenue recognition, manage billing milestones, and prepare final contract reconciliations upon completion of work.
- Prepare customer invoices.
- Aid in reviewing vendor bills and credit card transactions to ensure proper coding, maintain approvals and documentation.
- Aid in fixed asset schedules and ensure proper recording and documentation of asset additions and disposals.
- Review monthly inventory schedules.
- Aid in the month-end close process, including entering journal entries and preparing account reconciliations.
- Aid in the preparation of monthly financial reports and schedules.
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Aid in the preparation of annual budgets, as needed.
- Prepare schedules and provide documentation for tax return preparation and annual audits.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 4 years of related accounting experience with strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized with strong follow-through.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Able to manage periods of increased workload during month-end close.
- Able to write reports and correspondence and speak effectively with vendors and employees.
