Senior Accountant
The Role
This is an individual contributor role with full ownership of the close function. You'll run the monthly close for OH.io and its portfolio companies. You'll run the monthly close for OH.io and its affiliated companies. We currently close in 3–5 business days; your mandate is first to take that over and run it reliably, then to rebuild the process from first principles using AI agents and automation and drive it to a 2-day close. This is a builder's seat. We're a small team, the entities are early-stage, and the person who thrives here treats ambiguity as raw material. You'll context-switch daily between a services business and SaaS businesses with different revenue models, and you'll be expected to design process where none exists, and to ask questions early rather than guess quietly.
What You'll Do
- Own end-to-end monthly close across OH.io and the affiliated companies: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, intercompany, and financial statement preparation
- Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition across distinct models: SaaS subscriptions (ARR), usage/consumption-based revenue, and services revenue with variable fee structures
- Build and document close processes, checklists, and controls from scratch where needed
- Aggressively automate: identify manual steps in the close and eliminate them using the ERP's AI capabilities, agents, and integrations across Ramp, Stripe, and HubSpot
- Own accounts payable end-to-end: invoice processing, approval workflows, payment runs, and vendor management (via Ramp), a prime target for agent-driven automation
- Manage AR/AP, cash reconciliation, and month-end reporting packages for leadership
- Support annual audit/review readiness and tax provider handoffs
- Drive the close calendar from 3–5 days toward a 2-day, AI-native close
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on ownership of a monthly close (not just participation in one)
- B2B SaaS experience with real ASC 606 revenue recognition work, deferred revenue, performance obligations, contract modifications
- Audit experience (public accounting or audited-company side); CPA a plus, not required
- Early-stage or startup environment experience, you've built process, not just followed it
- Demonstrated AI fluency: you already use AI tools/agents in your workflow and can point to manual work you've automated
- Entrepreneurial operating style: independent, self-directed, unafraid to ask questions when the answer matters
- Comfortable context-switching across multiple entities and business models
- Columbus, OH. Able to work fully onsite
- Strong Pluses: Usage-based / consumption revenue recognition expertise (credits, drawdowns, variable consideration, SSP allocation), especially for AI products Experience with a modern ERP migration or implementation, especially newer AI-focused systems Multi-entity / holding company experience, including intercompany and consolidation Services-company revenue accounting (variable fees, revenue share)
