About the role
The Senior Accountant at NDTC will support day-to-day accounting operations and the monthly close by booking and monitoring Workday general ledger activity, managing accounts payable and cash transactions, and maintaining fixed asset accounting. This role prepares balance sheet reconciliations, contributes to monthly and quarterly financial reporting and regulatory/tax filings (including 1099s), and supports the external audit process by compiling documentation and schedules.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to booking transactions and monitoring accounts in the Workday general ledger daily
- Aid in the month end close process
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process
- Manage fixed asset accounting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Aid in the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives
- Aid in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances
- Aid in the completion of the quarterly regulatory filings and annual tax filings including documentation management
- Aid in the completion of the 1099 tax filings
- Assist with the annual external financial audit. Complete requested materials and assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit
- Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures
- Manage daily cash transactions
- Manage entire AP processing including but not limited to, W9 record keeping, and various vendor correspondences
- Record and reconcile employee expense reports and reimbursements
- Aid the Controller with payroll system and payroll related items (recording GL transactions, reports, etc.)
- Process payroll
- Contribute to the development of new processes and accounting systems
- Develop/update documentation and training materials for existing policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility
- Perform ad hoc accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required
Requirements
- Proficiency with Workday general ledger and accounts payable is required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience (start-up experience preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Credentials: CPA highly preferred

- Proven self-starter with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
