About the role
Our client seeks an experienced accounting professional to support the Record-to-Report function with emphasis on general ledger accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The role manages month-end close activities, financial analysis, account reconciliations, SOX compliance, and regulatory filings while driving automation and operational efficiencies across accounting processes. The position requires in-office work four days per week in Denver, PA.
Responsibilities
- Perform variance analysis, financial statement reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations for general ledger accounting.
- Calculate overhead rates and cost allocations in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Record payroll entries and lead predetermined labor allocations and intercompany allocation methodology, application, and automation.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and execute and document SOX key controls.
- Coordinate with external auditors, prepare audit schedules, and respond to audit inquiries.
- Support preparation and filing of FERC Form 1, PUC Annual Report, and other regulatory reports and schedules.
- Serve as SME to design, build, improve, and automate internal reporting and regulatory reporting processes, including Workiva.
- Lead special projects in general ledger and perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Five years of accounting experience.
- Experience in a regulated accounting environment preferred.
- Knowledge of plant and regulatory accounting principles.
- Ability to research and resolve issues and present solutions to management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to senior management.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and consolidation activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
Pay
$60,000 - $90,000/yr (W-2 basis)
